The Centre for Advanced Irfan Studies was founded in 2022 with a mission to promote peace, humanity, and a nuanced understanding of Islam in Malaysia. We focus on Islamic philosophy, Sufism, and broader studies across Asia. Through our research and activities, we aspire to illuminate the profound teachings of Islam and its place within our shared cultural tapestry. We believe that Sufism, the mystical dimension of Islam, has a special role to play in this effort. In a nation as diverse and historically rich as Malaysia, we believe that it is essential to build bridges of understanding between different cultures and faiths.
